The Pulau Banding Foundation orchestrated the 2nd Temengor Scientific Expedition and the 4th Royal Belum Scientific Expedition. The overarching objective of these endeavours was to systematically update the inventory of biodiversity within the designated expedition areas, following strict adherence to the National Biodiversity Policy. A total of 300 participants were documented, from whom 37 teams of experts were assembled based on their specialized knowledge in fields pertinent to the study of nature.

Embarking on the frontier of scientific exploration, the Second Temengor Scientific Expedition of 2012 came to life with its inaugural program held from 22nd to 25th August 2013. Based on the success of past endeavours, the Fourth Royal Belum Scientific Expedition unfolded from 22nd to 25th May 2016. Discover over 1000 new species during our 4-day, 3-night expedition. This journey has been a collaborative effort with esteemed organizations such as FRIM, MARDI, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, University of Malaya, and more.

As part of this expedition, we are conducting a Green Badge skill training program aimed at providing indigenous people with the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance their ecotourism capabilities. The program includes courses such as the Kursus Pemandu Pelancong Tahap 2 (Green Badge Course), Bengkel Pemantapan Ilmu Pemandu Pelancong (Tour Guide Refresher Course), Kursus Pemandu Pelancong Orang Asli (Tour Guide Course for Indigenous People), and Program Pemindahan Ilmu Bersama OKU (Knowledge Transfer Programme with the Disabled).

This comprehensive training initiative involves a total of sixty participants, spread across two camps, with a training duration of 17 days before certification is granted. The program aims to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute effectively to the field of ecotourism.
