In 2016, the Belum Rainforest Summit (BrainS) emerged as a catalyst for change, initiated by the Pulau Banding Foundation. This annual series was envisioned as a pivotal platform for researchers, conservationists, and stakeholders to converge and share their collective wisdom on tropical rainforest biodiversity and conservation.

Five keynote speakers, thirteen invited speakers, and forty-two submission speakers collectively ignited a discourse that would shape the future of rainforest conservation.
